In late November, I cut the tree of KOZO that I raised in the field.
( branches will extend again from the same root evry year)
Steam to make skin easier to peel.
While hot, peel off the part of the skin to use.
はぎ取った表皮を(黒皮(くろかわ)と呼ぶ)乾燥させ保管。
Storage the peeled skin (called black skin ) after drying.
Storage the KOZO in the white skin (shirokawa) after shaving off skin and scratches .
Simmer KOZO.
水洗いし、小さなゴミやキズを取る。
Washing with water and remove small dust and scratches.
Put water and tapped potatoes in a beater to make mushy cottony material.
(水に入れると、根が出す粘液で一時的にドロっとした水になる)
Crush the Root of Abelmoschus manihot and put it in water.
(Water becomes thick temporarily by the mucus from the root)
Making paper with SUGETA ,after put water ,materials, and slurry in SUKIBUNE.
Dry in steam boiler dryer or board dried (sun drying).
Check the weight snd the result of the paper.
Make it a product.
